GALLOP ON A HORSE.

Gallop on a horse is a three-beat gait of an animal in three paces with a supportless phase. Wild horses will gallop when they need to get away from predators or simply cover a short distance quickly. Horses rarely gallop more than 2-3 kilometers, because they quickly get tired at this pace, although at a fairly slow canter they can cover longer distances. With a slow gallop, the horse's speed may not exceed 20 km / h.

A very fast canter, in which the horse moves almost in two paces, is called a quarry or field canter. At this gait, the horse can reach speeds of up to 69.2 km / h.

How a horse runs at a gallop.

If at a walk, trot or amble the load on all legs of the horse is more or less evenly distributed, then at a gallop the load depends on whether this gait is started from the right or left leg. Depending on the order in which the horse's legs are set, the gallop is called right-handed or left-handed. With a left-handed canter, it is more convenient for a horse to turn left, with a right-handed canter, respectively, to the right. You can get acquainted with the prices for our services here.
